uSAP’s Successful First Event for the Year Focuses on Data Security

posted on Mar 7, 2013

Did you know that in a survey made by the Computer Security Institute, 90 percent of the respondents detected a computer security breach in their data, 80 percent acknowledge financial loss due to breach? These are just some of the facts raised during  uSAP, the SAP user group in the Philippines, first successful plenary for 2013.

It was a well-attended event that focused on an important issue companies face today – Data Security and Privacy. The main agenda of the event was to make sure members were aware of strategies to protect their data, and how they could adapt to changes in the local IT industry, as well as how new laws affected their businesses.

The members of uSAP’s community learned from invited experts in the field. Patrick Wang,  Business Development Manager APJ / Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), SAP Asia, discussed how to survive in a riskier world with SAP GRC.

Kaisa Consulting’s Ryan Victoria presented Privacy 101: Data Security Implementation for SAP.

Fujitsu, a major sponsor for this event, brought in William Ho, Regional Senior Consultant to talk about why Data Management and Security is highly overlooked yet critical to IT Operation of companies.

The event ended with an open forum which allowed uSAP community members to share specific issues that they have encountered, and the possible solutions to address these issues.
