uSAP at the SOS Children’s Villages

Last December 19, 2014, the members of the uSAP community visited the SOS Children’s Villages in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City to donate groceries and Christmas packs. The items were turned over to Jenny Villocino, SOS Corporate Relations Officer.

SOS Children’s Villages Philippines is a private, non-political, non-denominational international organization that provides long-term family-based care and education to children in need. It is a place for orphaned, abandoned and neglected children, and children in extremely difficult circumstances to belong to a home and family. Each house is headed by SOS “mothers” and “aunts” who look after the children’s needs.

uSAP aims to instill hope among the children who live in the community’s seven houses. Interestingly, these homes are named after the qualities that the children need in coping with life’s challenges—Acceptance, Understanding, Peace, Joy, Hope, Honesty, and Love.

Choosing a community as life-changing as the SOS Children’s Village allowed uSAP members to widen their outreach, creating an avenue for positive social change and being an influential voice in transforming the lives of others.
